Why does Kode Nirlaba focus on Indonesia?

We focus on organisations and initiatives in Indonesia so support fits their language, users and activities. Indonesian is the primary language of this site. English helps international readers and volunteers understand and contribute to the work.

What do we aim to improve?

We help reduce repeated administration, make information easier to find and support coordination. Useful examples include clearer registration, more accessible programme information and records that a coordinator can check.

We begin with one understandable problem and consider whether existing tools can be improved before building something new.

How do we define a useful result?

The first question is whether people use the result and find it helpful. Each project can agree an appropriate measure, such as fewer repeated entries or easier access to task status.

Published results need evidence and permission. The examples on this site describe possible needs, rather than completed projects.

How can students and volunteers contribute?

Students can discuss learning projects or social innovation prototypes. Volunteers can offer skills for agreed pieces of work. Both routes are available through the contact form.

What principles guide the work?

We consider users’ needs, clear responsibilities, responsible data handling and realistic support arrangements. Organisations retain their own programme decisions.

Project selection considers the purpose, scope, responsible contact and capacity. We welcome enquiries without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, gender or disability. Read our project assessment method.
